Who is the course for?

The course is suitable for operators, fitters, warehouse workers and others in industry, workshops and production who will lift loads with an overhead crane.

Requirements and regulations

Bridge and overhead cranes require documented safety training from a certified training provider when their use may involve a risk of injury to life and health (forskrift om utførelse av arbeid – Regulations concerning the performance of work – § 10-3).

In addition, the operator must receive documented equipment-specific training on the overhead crane to be used in the workplace (§ 10-4).

How the course works

  • Theory: G4 including G11 lifting gear – NOK 8,900. The theory part ends with a written exam.

  • Theory and practical training: Practical training with us takes place in Skien – NOK 15,500.

  • Practical training at your own company: Practical training can be carried out at your company with an approved mentor and a suitable overhead crane. The mentor must hold a certificate of competence and have at least one year of documented experience on the equipment.

We can offer external practical training.

Once the theory, documented practical training and a passed practical test have been completed, a certificate of competence for class G4 can be issued.
