Machine operator course for those in Skien and Grenland

Skien Municipality is located in Grenland in Telemark. MTK Skolen has a branch in the town, but we do not have machines there. Practical training and the practical test for the machine operator course are therefore carried out at our training centre at Sem in Tønsberg, approx. 55 minutes from Skien town centre via Porsgrunn and the E18. At Sem we have our own machines for M1 dozer, M2 excavator, M4 wheel loader and M6 dumper, so you do not need to bring your own machine. M3 grader and M5 backhoe loader are carried out on a suitable machine by arrangement.

The theory part covers machine classes M1–M6 – get in touch and we will find a theory solution that suits you. The course is relevant for those working in building and construction, landscaping, municipal operations or industry in Grenland.

• Practical training and practical test: MTK Skolen, Åshaugveien 37, 3170 Sem (Tønsberg)

• Theory: Modules 1.1 and 2.1, covering machine classes M1–M6 – contact us about the theory

• Machines: M1, M2, M4 and M6 on our machines at Sem, or via a mentor agreement (fadderavtale) in your own company

• Certificate of competence: Certified machine operator certificate with no expiry date

Theory, practical training and practical test

With a complete course at MTK Skolen, the practical test is included in the price. If you choose practical training through a mentor agreement in your own company, you take the practical test with us afterwards. The practical test after a mentor agreement costs NOK 1,500 per machine class, or NOK 3,300 per class including hire of our machine.

We hold in-house machine operator courses for contractors, landscape gardeners and municipal operations departments in Skien, Porsgrunn, Bamble, Notodden and the rest of Telemark. The training can be carried out at your premises if you have suitable and approved machines.

Questions from Skien

Where do the practical training and practical test take place?

At Sem in Tønsberg. We do not have machines at our branch in Grenland, so all driving on our machines takes place at Sem. Allow approx. 55 minutes by car.

Can we do the practical training in our own company in Grenland?

Yes. With a mentor agreement, the practical training can be carried out in your own company, and the practical test is then taken with us at Sem. Companies with suitable and approved machines can also have the training delivered on site.
