Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for those who will operate a fixed hydraulic crane, for example on a quay, in industry or in a workshop.
Content
Basic theory training for the G20 fixed hydraulic crane in line with the requirements for module O-G20 F (based on the former curriculum F-3089 from KUF, the former Ministry of Education).
Basic practical training on a fixed hydraulic crane, module 3.
The theory training ends with an exam.
Entry requirements

Module 1 – working environment, responsibilities and consequences
Module 2.3 – G11 slinging and slinger/signaller course
Or hold one of the following crane operator certificates:
G2 tower crane operator certificate
G3 gantry crane operator certificate
G4 bridge/overhead crane operator certificate
To operate a fixed hydraulic crane independently you must be at least 18 years old, but training can start at the age of 17. The certificate of competence is issued when you turn 18.
Duration
20 teaching hours.
Purpose
The purpose of the training is to give operators of fixed hydraulic cranes the necessary basic theory training in the safe use of fixed hydraulic cranes, so that incidents and accidents in connection with lifting operations are avoided. The training will give candidates insight into the principles of the crane's design, operation, maintenance and use.
Requirements and regulations
The employer must ensure that anyone using a crane has documented safety training that is both theoretical and practical. In addition, the employer must provide equipment-specific training on the crane to be used (forskrift om utførelse av arbeid (Regulations concerning the performance of work) § 10-4).
How the course works
Crane operator training consists of five modules:
Module 1 Working environment, responsibilities and consequences (theory).
Module 2.3 G11 slinging and slinger/signaller course (theory).
Module 2.8 G20 fixed hydraulic crane (theory).
Module 3 basic practical training G20 (practical).
Module 4 practical operating training (practical).
Module 4 can be completed in the company using a mentor scheme (fadderordning).
The training ends with a practical test. A passed practical test forms the basis for issuing the certificate of competence.
