Course in Hazardous Small Tools and Machinery

The purpose of the course in hazardous small tools and machinery is to give people who work with tools and machinery knowledge of safe use, maintenance and daily inspection. Participants should also be able to use the equipment in a way that prevents incidents and accidents during use. We build awareness of the hazards that can arise and how they can be avoided, in order to create the conditions for a safe and secure workplace.

Who is the course for?

The course is suitable for tradespeople, construction workers, industrial workers and others who use, for example, angle grinders, cut-off saws, bolt guns or nail guns in their work.

Requirements and regulations

Work equipment that requires particular care during use, including angle grinders, chainsaws, circular saws, concrete saws and nail and bolt guns, requires documented safety training that is both theoretical and practical (forskrift om utførelse av arbeid (Regulations concerning the performance of work) § 10-1 and § 10-2). The employer is responsible for ensuring that the training has been given and documented.

How the course works

MTK Skolen offers the course both as a classroom course and as an e-learning course. The course provides a basic theoretical and practical introduction to the safe use of hazardous small tools such as angle grinders, cut-off saws, bolt guns and nail guns. Participants are issued a certificate of competence to meet the legal requirements for documentation.
