Fall Protection A1 – basic course in working at height

The course provides basic theoretical and practical training in the safe use of personal fall protection equipment in accordance with NS 9610:2020, module A1.

Who is the course for?

The course is suitable for people who will work at height and use personal fall protection equipment in building, construction, industry, maintenance and other areas of work with a risk of falling.

No previous fall protection competence is required.

Duration

1 day – 8 hours.

Course content

• Acts, regulations, roles and responsibilities

• Hazards when working at height

• Risk assessment and planning of the work

• Fall restraint and fall arrest systems

• Choosing the right fall protection equipment

• Inspection of harness, lanyards, energy absorber and connectors

• Anchor points and safety distances

• Fall factor and clearance height

• Use and fitting of personal fall protection equipment

• Storage, maintenance and inspection

• Basic emergency preparedness and simple rescue

• Practical exercises

How the course works

The course consists of theory and practical exercises. Participants must take an active part in the entire training and complete the required tasks and tests.

Tests and documentation

The course ends with a theoretical and a practical test. After completing the training and passing the tests, documentation for Fall Protection A1 in accordance with NS 9610:2020 is issued.

Further training
